Gluten free freeze dried meals I keep in my pack

Gluten free freeze dried meals are definitely the easiest thing to throw in my pack for a trip in the backcountry. They are also great to keep on hand at home for emergency preparedness! Whether you are backpacking, camping, or weathering a power outage at home, here are some readymade meals to try if you need to avoid gluten.

Options by Mountain House

Mountain House makes some of my favorite gluten free freeze dried meals. My favorites so far are the pad Thai and Mexican style adobo rice and chicken. I really like the breakfast skillet when I’m backpacking- it has plenty of protein to start the day.

Backpacker’s Pantry gluten free freeze dried meals

Backpackers Pantry also offers some classic gluten free options and I use them regularly, too. My favorite is their Kathmandu curry, but if you’re looking for dessert ideas the mango sticky rice is yummy.

More gluten free options for backpacking and camping

If you need allergen-friendly meal options, you know how hard it can be to find good food! There are several other brands I’m looking forward to trying, but these are my current favorite, tried-and-true meals.
