The best first aid kit for women who love adventures

A good first aid kit is essential if you love outdoor adventures. I’ve always been in the build-your-own-kit camp. You can often curate higher-quality supplies and save money by assembling it yourself. But now I think the best first aid kit for outdoor adventures is made by SurviveX. Hear me out.

An incredibly organized kit

When SurviveX reached out about joining their affiliate program, I was immediately interested because their kits are so organized and stocked with a great selection of first aid essentials. Everything is color-coded and packed in a way that makes sense. In an emergency, you don’t want to dig through supplies and hope you can find what you need. You want everything to be exactly where it’s supposed to be.

When I took wilderness first aid classes, our instructor told us to practice with our kits. Pack them, unpack them, and do it all again. And again. Often! It’s a great idea to check your gear and pack everything once a month so you instinctively know where everything is. But unless you’re a group medic, wilderness first responder, or a die-hard gear junkie, how often will you actually do that?

Having a color-coded, labeled, and ultra organized kit is a great alternative to intensive drills with a bulky, unwieldy kit. Pull it out and check it over once a month and you’re all set!

Durable and detailed

Because I was really interested in the organization and contents of the kit, I decided to buy a kit so I could review the quality. It was obviously well organized, but could the quality really hold up to the promise? Let’s just say I’m super impressed!

I decided to invest in a kit I could use while car camping, and the large Pro kit seems perfect for the job. The case is really well made, and so are all of the individual components and supplies. The zipper is sturdy and the material and buckles seem like they are really built to last.

Many of the pockets in the kit are mesh. I was a little worried, because mesh can be flimsy and prone to rip. But each pocket is heavy duty, well finished, and neatly labeled. I’m impressed!

How I’m using my SurviveX first aid kit

Although I really enjoy my solo adventures, lately I’ve been doing more car camping with my friends and their 4yr old daughter. My usual first aid kit suddenly seemed inadequate. It has enough supplies for me on a day hike, but having a kid and two other adults along means it has some room to improve.

The SurviveX Pro is durable enough that I can take it with me wherever I’m camping, whether that’s on the beach or up in the Blue Ridge. If I’m by myself I’m more than covered, and the supplies are easily enough for my small group of friends when we go together. It’s also fantastic to know that my friends can open the kit and easily find what they need without needing to follow my directions. Instant peace of mind, all the way around.

Affordable first aid supplies

Of course, the best first aid kit is also one you can afford! To make them even more affordable, all of the SurviveX kits are HSA/FSA eligible and there are three different kits to choose from.

The large Pro kit (#affiliate) is perfect as a car camping first aid kit or to stash in your emergency supplies for natural disasters. It’s the most advanced kit they offer. It contains enough supplies for a small group of 5-6 people.

The Large first aid kit by SurviveX (#affiliate) is great for 3-4 people. If you are looking for a kit that’s easy to use, durable, and has good coverage, this is your kit.

Finally, their Small first aid kit (#affiliate) is perfectly portable! I already have a small kit in my day pack for hikes. But honestly, I’ll probably end up replacing the one I have with this kit eventually!

Happy adventuring!
